Slender Man makes a comeback this fall with a major Slender: The Arrival 10th anniversary update. Over 10 years after its initial launch, Slender: The Arrival will be updated with substantial upgrades, additional features, and new story content.
Slender: The Arrival first launched in March 2013 on PC during Slender Man’s peak in online popularity. The horror adventure title would release on modern platforms such as Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One in subsequent years with crucial fixes and adjustments. Although interest in Slender Man waned in recent years, Blue Isle Studios has been working hard on developing new content and updates for Slender: The Arrival. Blue Isle Studios teased a comeback for Slender: The Arrival this past June, and the studio is ready to share what will be released this October.
In a new blog post, Blue Isle Studios announced the Slender: The Arrival 10th anniversary update will launch on October 18. This particular update includes a new story chapter, graphical improvements with Unreal Engine 5, and additional language support. Steam users who already Slender: The Arrival will receive the new update for free, and they will have the option of switching between past versions of the game by accessing Steam properties. Blue Isle Studios released a new gameplay trailer to tease the new story chapter, and “big plans for future expansions” will be revealed in an upcoming roadmap according to the studio’s latest blog post.
Alongside the new update, Slender: The Arrival will be available for $19.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and the Epic Games Store for the first time. The Steam version’s price will be raised from $9.99 to $19.99, so players who want to save money may purchase the title right now before launch day. Moreover, Slender: The Arrival will support higher frame rates and resolutions with the new update, and new PC system requirements list 16 GB of RAM and a RTX 3070 graphics card for recommended settings.
Although Slender: The Arrival wasn’t well-received at launch, the new 10th anniversary update aims to bring a more polished and visually appealing experience to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Unfortunately, the new update will not release on last generation platforms such as PS4 and Xbox One, so purchasing the title again is mandatory for players who want to experience the continuation of the Slender: The Arrival storyline. This may be due to limitations involving Unreal Engine 5 on older platforms.
