A Starfield player has found an Easter egg from The Green Mile, the movie starring Tom Hanks and Michael Clarke Duncan. Starfield is one of this year’s most talked about games, with players praising Bethesda’s RPG for several reasons like its Easter eggs.

As a sci-fi game, Starfield has found the perfect reference by naming the planets in the Alpha Centauri system after real-life astronauts and scientists. There are also references to classic books such as Bram Stoker’s Dracula, and various works by Charles Dickens like Oliver Twist and David Copperfield. But the scope of Starfield‘s Easter eggs is proving impressive, with mentions of Death Stranding and references to other Bethesda games. This time a Starfield player has found yet another Easter egg in the game, which recalls an iconic 90s movie.

Reddit user Guard-International found an Easter egg in Starfield from The Green Mile, the movie directed by Frank Darabont and released in 1999. The player found a note on a table asking for bigger handcuffs for a prisoner identified as “JC#1932” because said prisoner “is huge.” The Easter egg refers to one of the best films starring Tom Hanks, adapting Stephen King’s book of the same name in which King tells a story set in 1932. The letters JC are the initials of John Coffey, the character played by Michael Clarke Duncan. In the movie, Coffey is a large man sentenced to death who, although accused of a terrible crime, has a docile temperament that makes him a “gentle giant.” With his success in Green Mile, Duncan received nominations at the Oscars and Golden Globes and got work in other films such as Planet of the Apes, Scorpion King, and Daredevil.

The Green Mile Easter egg found by Guard-International in Starfield isn’t the only movie reference in Bethesda’s new RPG. Starfield players have already found an obscure Easter egg from The Lord of the Rings, and another from Jurassic Park in one of the side quests. As well as a reference to Breaking Bad, Starfield has an Easter egg from The Expanse, the Amazon Prime Video show that is very popular with sci-fi fans.

Starfield is a fun adventure for different reasons, from the large universe to explore to exciting combat and a sense of humor unusual in the sci-fi genre. The character creator and ship builder are also greatly contributing to entertaining players, who are using the tools to recreate characters and build famous ships in Starfield. The Easter eggs, meanwhile, add a nice touch to Starfield, making the RPG even richer with these little neat details.

Starfield is available now on PC and Xbox Series X/S.
