Pokemon GO is hosting a special event to celebrate the arrival of Hindi language support this weekend, but a majority of active players will not be able to participate and earn free rewards. Every month, Pokemon GO launches new updates with limited-time events, allowing players to earn more rewards and test out the game’s latest features such as Routes.
More than seven years after its initial launch, Pokemon GO continues to be one of the most popular mobile games around the world. Community Day and Pokemon GO Fest events bring fans together to capture featured Pokemon and participate in challenging raids. The Pokemon Company and Niantic will also bring the Pokemon GO City Safari event to select cities starting in October with exclusive Special Research tasks and new activities. While waiting for Pokemon GO City Safari, Niantic launched a new event this weekend geared toward Pokemon GO newcomers in India.
The Pokemon Company and Niantic is hosting the Aao Khele Pokemon GO special event this weekend to celebrate the game’s launch in India and the addition of Hindi language support. However, most of the active Pokemon GO community will not be able to participate in the new event since its exclusive to India. Pokemon GO players in India have access to Field Research that awards encounters with Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle. Those participating in the event may encounter shiny Pokemon and extra candy as well. Further, completing certain tasks will also grant Mega Energy for Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise respectively.
The new Pokemon GO special event will be live until October 14 at 8:00 p.m. local time in India. Niantic promises to provide further improvements and updates to the Hindi version of Pokemon GO. Outside of India, Pokemon GO players must wait until the September 2023 Community Day event launching on September 23 in order to earn extra candy and XP rewards.
Although many players won’t be able to participate in new Pokemon GO event, the September Community Day event will soon offer similar bonuses that the worldwide community may take advantage of. These bonuses include increased candy drops, higher XP gains, reduced trading costs, and boosted encounter rates. Moreover, the India event appears to be geared toward players starting their Pokemon GO journey, so those who already play the game frequently may not benefit as much as new players.
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s The Teal Mask DLC adds new Pokemon that could potentially join Pokemon GO in the near future. Niantic will likely publish new blog posts for Pokemon GO players in India and around the world whenever the development team is ready to share information about new Pokemon and events.
Pokemon GO is available now for Android and iOS.
