Dune: Spice Wars is a mix of 4X and real-time strategy that puts players in control of one of the many factions in the unforgiving desert of Arrakis. As players progress through the game, they guide their faction in a relentless campaign to kill opponent factions and conquer the Arrakis planet. The world of Dune: Spice Wars is huge and has lots of resources for players to collect. Among them is water.
Since Dune: Spice Wars is set on a fictional desert planet, it’s no wonder that water is a rare material in the game. Players have just enough water at the beginning of a match, and they will have to collect more in order to take control of the planet. Building a Dew Collector is a great way to gather water in Dune: Spice Wars.
How to Build a Dew Collector in Dune: Spice Wars
Dew Collector is one of the many buildings that players can build in Dune: Spice Wars. The recent 14th September update introduced many new materials and buildings in the game, and Dew Collector is one of them. It collects the morning dew to produce clean water in small amounts. Luckily, it is available from the start of a match. Here’s how players can build it:
- Select a village and click a building slot at the bottom of the screen to open the ‘Buildings’ menu.
- Here, players will find all building options in Dune: Spice Wars, including Plascrete Factory, Military Base, Refinery, and, of course, Dew Collector.
- Under the ‘Economy’ tab, players will find the Dew Collector in the second row. Gamers can build it by clicking on it and placing it on the map. Like most buildings in Dune: Spice Wars, the construction will take some time, though.
It must be pointed out that players can only construct Dew Collectors in villages that they have conquered. To gain control of a village, gamers can direct their military units to launch an attack by recruiting and selecting a unit and then selecting the village by right-clicking on it. After defeating the native militia and taking over a village, players can build whichever building they want.
A Dew Collector can add +3 water, and its upkeep requires 4 Solari. Those who don’t have enough Solari can earn some by taking over villages with rare minerals. Alternatively, players can also harvest Spice and exchange it for Solari.
