Studio Wildcard is once again delaying the release of ARK: Survival Ascended on Xbox as it encountered “unexpected issues” along the way. The game developer announced the delay of ARK: Survival Ascended‘s Xbox version a few days ago, making this the third time it did so in a month.
ARK: Survival Ascended‘s initial release wasn’t all smooth sailing despite the graphics upgrade it got. Studio Wildcard delayed the game’s PlayStation 5 and Xbox versions due to the critical issues it found in its multiplayer versions. According to the game developer, these issues would have had major implications for the game’s console versions if it released the game as it was back then. As such, Studio Wildcard said it would launch the game’s console versions sometime in November. Unfortunately, all might not be well with the development of ARK: Survival Ascended‘s Xbox version.
Studio Wildcard recently announced on Twitter that it is delaying the launch of ARK: Survival Ascended‘s Xbox version yet again. According to the game developer’s post, the certification process of Ark: Survival Ascended‘s Xbox version “yielded some unexpected issues,” prompting it to work with Microsoft to resubmit the game’s build for the Xbox as soon as possible. The developer is now looking to launch the game early next week, and players should get a more precise update before this week ends.
This delay announcement is the third Studio Wildcard made in a month since ARK: Survival Ascended‘s early access release in late October. Unfortunately, many of the game’s fans weren’t too pleased with it. One player mentioned that Studio Wildcard should release the game’s single-player mode for now and launch its multiplayer mode at a later date. Meanwhile, another player said that the developer should just stop giving release dates to avoid disappointing the player base.
Other players are more accommodating. A player said it was “unrealistic” for Studio Wildcard to release the game on early access so quickly but assured that nobody would be upset if it kept the game’s updates coming. Some stated they’d be willing to wait with excitement for the Xbox version to come out. Only time will tell if Studio Wildcard will keep its word this time. If it does, ARK: Survival Ascended should have fewer issues than it did at its early access release. Many players review bombed it on Steam due to the game’s many issues back then.
