Fortnite Geoguessr is a cool browser game where players can test their topographic skills. The mechanics of the game are identical to the standard Geoguessr, in which the game takes users to a random location in the world, and they need to guess where they are using the clues that surround them. Below is detailed information about how to play the game and its features.
Fortnite Geoguessr: How to Play It
Fortnite Geoguessr is a game that closely resembles the traditional Geoguessr, with one notable difference. The maps available for exploration are Fortnite maps that have either been featured previously or are currently in the game.
Visit the Website
Foremost, players need to open a browser and go to the official Lostgamer website. Here, users will see a small interface with the following buttons:
To start Fortnite Geoguessr, gamers need to select Fortnite from the list there, and then they can customize the game settings.
Setting Game Parameters
After that, it’s crucial to select the game settings. Initially, players will see the option to choose between Single or Multiplayer modes, followed by the selection of their preferred map. The order in which these choices are made is inconsequential. Simply choose the mode and then a map from a specific season, or pick the universal option that includes all maps.
When the mode and map are selected, it’s time to take care of the game parameters. Here are all of them:
- Game length – determines how many rounds a player wants to play (from 5 to 40).
- Round timer – Gamers can choose a time limit or just disable it.
- Pan – Users can turn on this feature to be able to dynamically explore the area instead of seeing only one screenshot.
- Zoom – When enabled, allows players to zoom in on the image to find more landmarks.
- Move – If enabled, players can move around the map to find more landmarks.
Once players have selected their preferred options, they can click the Start Game button to begin the challenge.
Mechanics of the Game
As soon as the game starts, the player will be moved to a random location. Now, gamers need to figure out where they are by carefully examining the area around them and looking at landmarks.
The screenshot above from Map of Season 2, Chapter 2, can serve as a good example. Here, part of the horizon is limited by the building standing next to it, but it can be seen that it is a small city. The main landmark is the revive vehicle, which is standing near the crosswalk. By noticing all of these details or using their own experience, fans can get a rough idea of where they are.
After realizing exactly where they are, players can open the map to place a mark. If users are confident in their choice, they should click on the Make Guess button.
After making their choice, fans will complete the round and will see how correctly they placed the marker. The more meters away from the answer point, the fewer points they will receive (maximum 5,000 per round). After all the rounds are over, players will see a Game Summary, which will highlight all their results.
