Ahsoka actor Ariana Greenblatt shares a video of her walking through a lightsaber fight with Hayden Christensen. The two actors appeared in the fifth episode of the Star Wars Disney+ show, where Greenblatt played a younger version of Ahsoka Tano, and Christensen reprised his role as Anakin Skywalker in the World Between Worlds. During this episode, Rosario Dawson’s Ahsoka relives parts of her past during the Clone Wars, with Greenblatt playing the former Jedi Padawan during those key sequences.
In a video posted on Twitter, Greenblatt shares a brief sequence of her walking through a fight with Christensen’s Anakin. Check it out below:
With the caption “from the practice stage to the sound stage, early, early walk through choreography with the chosen one,” the Young Ahsoka actor and Christensen go head-to-head as they practice a lightsaber duel between the Padawan and her master.
Ahsoka’s Fifth Episode Is The Show’s Most Important
While most of Ahsoka’s story focuses on the titular character looking for Ezra Bridger (Eman Esfandi) and, by extension, Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), the fifth episode of the Star Wars spinoff further develops the bond she has with her Jedi Master, which was greatly explored in the animated show, Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The episode, titled “Shadow Warrior”, adds more development to that master/apprentice relationship to satisfy fans of The Clone Wars and complement the story told in the live-action show.
In the fifth episode, Ahsoka learns that she was not the person responsible for Anakin’s transformation into Darth Vader when she remembers a part of her past that made her concerned about her legacy during the Clone Wars. At that moment, Anakin flashes back and forth between his Jedi version of himself and the figure of Darth Vader as he storms into battle with Clone Troopers. This moment is integral to the character development of Ahsoka during Star Wars: The Clone Wars and how she perceives herself as she embarks on the next step on her journey to find Ezra and Thrawn.
Ahsoka is a continuation of the animated show Star Wars Rebels, which had many characters from Star Wars: The Clone Wars return.
Without entering the World Between Worlds and fighting her inner demons in the form of Anakin, Ahsoka wouldn’t have risen the way she did in the latter half of the show, which has likely set up Thrawn as the big bad of the current Mandalorian-focused universe, which already has a few spinoffs to its name and more on the way. While a second season of Ahsoka has yet to be confirmed, it’s clear there is an appetite for more stories centered on Ahsoka Tano in the live-action form on Disney+, whether on her own spinoff show or in other iterations of the Mandalorian universe.
