- Unfortunately, it’s unlikely that Mara Jade will appear in live-action Star Wars, as the canon has taken a different direction, emphasizing Luke Skywalker’s commitment to the Jedi Code on attachment.
A gorgeously stunning Mara Jade cosplay has put a modern twist on Timothy Zahn’s character, imagining what she would look like in a live-action Star Wars movie. Mara Jade Skywalker, Heir To The Empire’s villain-turned-hero, was Luke Skywalker’s wife in Legends. Making a complex journey from being the Emperor’s Hand, a smuggler, and an assassin to completely switching sides to become a Jedi and marry Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade is a beloved character in the Star Wars extended universe. This is no wonder. Her story is compelling and interesting. Zahn displays expert knowledge of how to do character growth correctly.
Here is how to watch all Star Wars movies and TV shows, both chronologically and by release date, and how the Star Wars timeline works.
A stunning new coosplay by Rei Kennex does an excellent job of honoring this iconic character while adding a modern flair to her costume. This, as the poster refers to it, “modernized live-action adaptation” of Mara Jade keeps the spirit of the character while providing a plausible interpretation of how her costume could be updated to fit current tastes. Complete with a red wig, goggles hanging around her neck, a purple lightsaber, a brown shoulder cape, and a futuristic black outfit with blaster holders, this cosplay is eye-catching. It keeps the essential elements of Mara Jade’s costume and the basic silhouette while, as the poster says, “updating that late 80s -early 90s look.”
Is It Likely That Mara Jade Will Be Seen In Live-Action?
Unfortunately, viewers probably won’t ever see Mara Jade Skywalker in live-action. Although there’s some evidence Luke initially didn’t mind having members of his order who were married in canon – he still trained his sister, after all – his view eventually seems to have changed. As seen in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett, Luke eventually committed to the prequel Jedi Code view on attachment.
Looking to the Star Wars sequel trilogy, Luke Skywalker certainly doesn’t seem to have had a wife and children. Instead, he wound up alone on the distant planet Ahch-To in the Unknown Regions. Star Wars canon took a very different direction, and t’s unlikely Mara Jade is part of it.
